Abstract:
The article examines the theoretical and methodological foundations of managing enterprise adaptation in the digital economy. It is substantiated that the dynamism, uncertainty, and technological variability of the modern economic environment necessitate a shift from fragmented and reactive management decisions to systemic management of adaptation processes. It is shown that digital transformation changes not only the management tools but also the logic of enterprise operations, highlighting the need to rethink adaptation as a continuous management process. The main theoretical approaches to understanding enterprise adaptation are summarized, and their limitations in the context of the digital economy are identified. It is demonstrated that enterprise adaptation acquires a multidimensional nature, combining strategic, organizational, economic, and technological aspects. The rationale for considering adaptation management as an independent subject of scientific analysis, operating at strategic, tactical, and operational levels and integrated into the overall enterprise management system, is presented. The methodological principles of enterprise adaptation management are systematized, identifying continuity, flexibility, integration, and digital orientation. It is demonstrated that adherence to these principles ensures the consistency of managerial decisions and enhances enterprises’ ability to respond to digital challenges. The substantiation for the comprehensive application of systemic, process-oriented, situational, and digitally-oriented approaches in forming enterprise adaptation management systems in the digital economy is provided. The theoretical and methodological generalizations obtained form the scientific foundation for further research aimed at developing practical mechanisms and tools for managing enterprise adaptation in the digital economy. The practical implementation of the proposed approaches will promote the enhancement of resilience, competitiveness, and adaptive development of enterprises in the long-term perspective.
