Abstract:
The article focuses on systematizing the theoretical foundations for studying entropy as a determining factor of economic environment instability and its impact on the resilience of industrial enterprises as socioeconomic systems in the context of their strategic development. Research into entropy as a factor for assessing economic environment instability gains practical significance not only in theoretical understanding but also in its application to enhance adaptability, competitiveness, stability, and resilience of industrial enterprises. This lays the groundwork for forming a new paradigm of economic thinking, where complexity and uncertainty are not obstacles, but constructive variables in the process of managing the development of industrial enterprises. A comprehensive theoretical substantiation has been carried out regarding the influence of entropy characteristics on the adaptive properties of enterprises, their capacity for efficient strategic planning, managerial decision-making, and maintenance of internal process stability. Special attention has been given to formalizing the impact of entropy on key enterprise development parameters, particularly on the efficiency of information flows, controllability, organizational cohesion, and flexible responsiveness. It has been demonstrated that the assessment of the impact of increasing entropy on enterprise resilience shows that, under conditions of heightened external uncertainty, the level of resilience decreases; however, efficient managerial dynamics, expressed through adaptive strategies and the managerial index, can offset the negative effect, slowing the degradation rate of managerial capability. For building an efficient management system, it is strategically essential to develop an analytical model that reflects the relationship between entropy indicators and the economic performance of an enterprise, which determines the practical directions for applying entropy-based approaches in systems of strategic monitoring, risk forecasting, and enhancing the economic resilience of industrial structures under conditions of instability and dynamic economic environments.

Keywords: entropy, resilience, instability, economic environment, industrial enterprise, strategic management.
