Abstract: The aim of the article is to conduct a structural-dynamic regional analysis of agricultural development in the world. Based on FAO and World Bank data, the dynamics of the global structure of agricultural land, the global and regional share of those employed in agriculture in total employment, the global and regional share of agriculture’s added value in GDP, and the global and regional share of agriculture in government expenditures were assessed; the leading countries in terms of output, export, import, and market capacity of agricultural products are presented. The conducted structural-dynamic regional analysis of global agricultural development showed a significant increase in production, trade, and market size, accompanied by a decrease in employment in this sector. Asia has become a global leader in the expansion of agricultural production and trade, while Europe has experienced a relative decline. Government support for agricultural development has decreased in all regions, except Asia. Ukraine’s agrarian sector during the period 2000–2023 showed a steady positive trend in key development indicators, including gross production volumes, export potential, and per capita productivity. The past decades have been marked by significant changes in the use of agricultural land, sector productivity, and international trade. Notably, there has been an increase in gross agricultural output, accompanied by a reduction in the share of the population employed in this sector, especially in regions with high levels of economic development. These trends underscore the importance of technological innovations and the shift toward intensive farming methods. The conducted analysis allowed for the identification of a number of key trends that are significant for shaping global and national agrarian policy.
Keywords: agrarian sector, structural-dynamic analysis, development directions, agrarian policy, structural transformations, added value, export-import, market capacity.
