AI AND GENERATIVE AI TOOLS POLICY

The editorial board acknowledges that artificial intelligence (AI) and generative AI tools are increasingly used in academic research and writing. To uphold academic integrity, transparency, and trust in published content, the editorial board establishes the following policy.

1. For Authors

Authors may use AI tools to support manuscript preparation, including improving language, grammar, and readability, while retaining full responsibility for the content of the publication.

The use of generative AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, etc.) for generating scientific text, research findings, data analysis, or conclusions is permitted only with mandatory disclosure in the manuscript.

Authors are required to: carefully verify all AI-generated content for accuracy, completeness, and impartiality; verify all references and citations, as AI tools may generate non-existent or inaccurate sources; ensure that the manuscript reflects the authors' original scholarly contribution and is not a reproduction of AI-generated content without critical evaluation.

AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors. Authorship implies intellectual accountability, the ability to approve the final version of the work, and responsibility for its content - duties that can only be fulfilled by humans.

The use of AI for spell-checking or grammar correction does not require disclosure.

AI Declaration Statement. When generative AI tools have been used, authors must include a separate declaration before the reference list, following this format:

"During the preparation of this work, the author(s) used [NAME OF TOOL / VERSION] for the purpose of [REASON FOR USE]. After using this tool, the author(s) reviewed and edited the content as needed and take(s) full responsibility for the content of the publication."

2. For Reviewers

Manuscripts submitted for peer review are confidential documents. Reviewers must not upload manuscripts or any part thereof into generative AI tools, as this may violate authors' confidentiality and intellectual property rights.

Peer review requires critical thinking, subject-matter expertise, and independent scientific judgment - functions that cannot be delegated to AI tools. Reviewers bear full responsibility for the content of their reports. If AI tools are used for any ancillary purpose, this must be disclosed in the review report.

3. For Editors and Editorial Board Members

Editors and editorial board members must not use generative AI tools to make editorial decisions, prepare reviews, or draft correspondence regarding specific manuscripts under consideration. The confidentiality of all submitted materials is an absolute requirement.

Editors may use AI-assisted tools for technical tasks unrelated to the assessment of specific manuscripts (e.g., plagiarism detection, reviewer identification).

4. Images and Visual Materials

The use of generative AI to create or alter images, figures, or illustrations in manuscripts is not permitted, unless such use constitutes part of the research methodology. In such cases, the application of AI must be described in detail in the Methods section.

5. Responsibility and Monitoring

The editorial board reserves the right to reject a manuscript or retract a published article if undisclosed or inappropriate use of AI tools is detected. The journal follows the principles of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) in addressing any violations of this policy. This policy is subject to regular review and updating in line with technological developments and evolving international standards in academic publishing.
