The Assessment of Competitive Environment of Agricultural Business in Zhitomir Region (p. 149 - 153)
The article investigates the methodical aspects of competitive business environment studies. It defines the stages of diagnostics of competitive environment and estimates the competitive environment of the market of grain crops produced by agricultural enterprises in the context of Zhitomir region areas using CR4 concentration ratio, relative concentration coefficient, Herfindahl-Hirschman Index, entropy coefficient, market share dispersion and Hall-Tideman Index. To make the assessment more detailed and objective, the author created a grain crops competitive map which is the basis for future enterprises development strategy elaboration. This map also considers competitive status of each enterprise, the dynamics of its development and the peculiarities of its market environment. The competitive map allowed to establish a considerable inequality of market shares distribution among local grain crops producers, becoming a perspective course of researches that will allow to analyze and estimate the influence exerted on the competitive situation within the branch by market’s driving forces.
