Abstract:
The study addresses both theoretical and practical aspects of risk management for industrial enterprises engaged in foreign economic activities. The essence of the risk management process is defined as a systematic set of measures aimed at anticipating potential threats, minimizing their negative impact, and ensuring the stable operation of the enterprise. A risk management algorithm has been developed, encompassing the stages of identification, assessment, analysis, selection of management methods, monitoring, and control. Risks inherent to foreign trade activities have been classified, distinguishing contractual, financial, country-specific, and partnership risks. Methodological approaches to their assessment are described, including qualitative and quantitative analyses based on expert, statistical, analytical, and comparative methods. Particular attention is paid to the role of diversification, insurance, financial guarantees, and contractual provisions as efficient tools for mitigating risk. The study outlines the methodological support for the risk management process, which includes risk identification based on the analysis of the external and internal environment, the application of SWOT and PESTLE analyses, the development of mitigation strategies, and risk management plans. The stages of conducting sensitivity analysis to assess the impact of changes in key factors on the financial results of an international company are presented. The results obtained enable the improvement of the risk management system, the enhancement of foreign economic activity efficiency, the reduction of potential financial losses, and the maintenance of stable competitiveness of industrial enterprises in international markets. The presented provisions can be used to develop practical recommendations for optimizing risk management, enhancing financial stability, and strategic planning of enterprise operations in the global economic environment.
