Abstract: The article examines the modern theoretical aspects of forming the potential for sustainable development of enterprises in a dynamic economic environment. The key factors influencing the conception of sustainable development are identified, including environmental challenges, increasing demands for corporate social responsibility, the need for the integration of digital technologies, and market globalization. The analysis of scientific approaches has established that sustainable enterprise development is based on a balanced combination of economic, environmental, and social aspects, ensuring long-term efficiency and competitiveness. The study characterizes modern trends shaping sustainable development strategies, including globalization, the role of the corporate sector, national strategies, the valuation of natural resources, intergenerational equality, the development of information technologies, and public participation. Considering the dynamic changes in the global economy, an expanded list of relevant trends is proposed, including the decarbonization of the economy, circular economy, production localization, the development of short supply chains, flexible employment models, and strategic risk management. It is substantiated that integrating these approaches enables enterprises to enhance resilience, effectively adapt to external environmental changes, reduce environmental risks, and improve socioeconomic performance. The obtained results can be used in strategic enterprise management to develop comprehensive models of sustainable development.
Keywords: sustainable development, enterprise, economic efficiency, environmental sustainability, corporate social responsibility, circular economy, decarbonization, strategic risk management, antifragility, globalization.
