Abstract: The subject of the study is the formation of a set of competitive policy measures aimed at enhancing the competitive position by leveraging internal and external opportunities and minimizing threats to their operations. The aim of the study is to deepen the theoretical and methodological approaches to the development of competitive policies, taking into account the influence of the internal and external environment over a specified period of time. Research objectives: to analyze the conditions for the development of enterprises engaged in wood processing and manufacturing of wood products, to create a SWOT analysis matrix reflecting the current influence of the internal and external environment on their operations, and to develop a set of competitive policy measures aimed at capitalizing on opportunities and mitigating threats to the enterprises’ activities. The conducted analysis made it possible to identify the external and internal factors affecting the competitive policy of enterprises in the sector and to carry out their quantitative assessment. The formulated set of measures defines the directions for the practical implementation of competitive policy for enterprises engaged in wood processing and the production of wooden products. Each enterprise should develop its own competitive policy that reflects its actual competitive advantages, competitive strategy, and technical, innovative, investment, financial, and communication capacities. Such a policy should be based on the principles of alignment with the external environment, be dynamic, integrated into the system of strategic and operational management of the enterprise, correspond to the enterprise’s real capabilities, and be efficient. The constructed problem field helps enterprises establish a market position that allows them not only to compete in the market but also to influence the external environment by changing its trends and structure. The choice of competitive policy measures depends on the competitive advantages the enterprise possesses and aims to develop.
