Abstract:
The article examines the essence, role, and importance of compliance as a modern tool for ensuring an enterprise’s economic security in conditions of increasing uncertainty and business risks. It is identified that compliance management is an internal control system aimed at ensuring adherence to legal, regulatory, and ethical requirements within the corporate environment. The article demonstrates that the effective implementation of a compliance system helps minimize financial, legal, and reputational risks, enhances the transparency of business processes, and strengthens trust among partners and investors. It also outlines the evolution of compliance from a legal instrument into a strategic element of corporate governance, integrated with risk management systems and the enterprise’s ESG policy. The international experience of compliance practices has been analyzed, and the need to adapt them to the Ukrainian context has been identified, as the implementation of such systems remains largely confined to the financial sector. It is argued that industrial enterprises face several challenges: insufficient knowledge and skills among personnel, the lack of standardized compliance performance indicators, and a low level of digital readiness for automation of control processes. The article notes that, in the context of digital transformation and Ukraine’s integration into the European economic space, it is important to establish national standards for compliance control, train specialists, and develop methodological guidelines for assessing its efficiency. In conclusion, it is demonstrated that establishing an effective compliance management system is a crucial factor in enhancing the competitiveness of an enterprise, strengthening its economic security, and building a positive business reputation. Thus, it has been demonstrated that introducing an efficient compliance management system is a key factor in ensuring an enterprise’s economic security, as it minimizes financial and reputational losses, enhances corporate responsibility, and supports the integration of Ukrainian enterprises into the European economic space. Directions for improving compliance control mechanisms in Ukraine have been proposed, including the establishment of unified national standards, the development of professional education in the field of compliance, and the strengthening of information interaction between the State regulators and businesses.
