Abstract:
The article examines the process of servicification of printing and publishing activities in the context of digitalization and the development of the platform economy. It is substantiated that the modern printing industry is transforming from a traditional manufacturing sector into a hybrid service-digital ecosystem, within which material production, knowledge-intensive services, digital technologies, and platform-based solutions are integrated. It is determined that the key driver of this transformation is the shift of the value creation center from the material product to service, informational, and analytical components. The study analyzes contemporary theoretical approaches to the servicification of manufacturing industries, service-dominant logic, and the role of knowledge-intensive business services (KIBS) in fostering innovation-driven development. It is defined that publishing activity represents one of the most illustrative examples of the integration of production and service processes, as it is based on the creation, processing, and distribution of informational content. The role of digital platforms, in particular Web-to-Print, is substantiated as an infrastructural basis for the servicification of the printing industry, enabling the automation of production processes, product personalization, and the integration of customers into the value creation process. A conceptual model of the servicification of publishing activity is proposed, reflecting the evolution of the industry from a product-based to a service-platform logic and structured across four interrelated levels. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the development of a systemic approach to analyzing the servicification of printing and publishing activities as a hybrid sector of the economy, as well as in the elaboration of a conceptual model that integrates production, service, and digital components. The practical significance of the results is determined by the possibility of their application in designing strategies for transforming business models of enterprises in the industry under conditions of the digital economy.

Keywords: servicification; printing industry; publishing activity; digital platforms; Web-to-Print; knowledge-intensive business services (KIBS); service-dominant logic; platform economy.
