Abstract:
The article is devoted to the study of security dimensions in ensuring Ukraine’s sustainable development, substantiating the role of the security component as a system-forming element in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, as well as assessing the impact of key groups of security risks on the dynamics of their implementation in the context of modern challenges and wartime instability. As a result of the research conducted, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have been systematized according to the presence of security content, and their functional interconnection with key types of security has been established; an analysis of current global trends in achieving SDGs was carried out, and Ukraine’s positions in the sustainable development index were determined, which made it possible to identify both strengths (social and environmental resilience) and critical structural vulnerabilities (innovation and infrastructure). A comparative analysis of the effectiveness of achieving the SDGs in Ukraine relative to regional and global indicators has been conducted, which confirmed uneven progress across individual goals. Particular attention was paid to identifying key groups of security risks (military, economic, energy, infrastructure, and socio-demographic), as well as assessing their impact on the dynamics of SDG achievement. Based on a matrix approach, a «probability – impact» matrix was constructed, which allowed for the classification of security risks by criticality level and the identification of the most threatening ones. The synthesis of the research results made it possible to substantiate the need to integrate security factors into sustainable development policy implementation mechanisms, to form adaptive risk management tools, and to ensure the resilience of the socioeconomic system. The obtained results can be used in the development of postwar recovery strategies for Ukraine based on security, resilience, and innovative development.
