Abstract:
As result of the study, the content of the category of a manager’s leadership potential has been closer defined, and its role has been substantiated as an integral managerial resource that determines the enterprise’s ability to form and implement innovation opportunities in a dynamic external environment. It is shown that leadership potential should be considered as a combination of strategic vision, adaptability, communication capability, coordination ability, and readiness to act under uncertainty, which together ensure the efficiency of managerial decisions. It has been found that the practical impact of leadership potential is manifested through the formation of the company’s innovation strategy, the creation of a favorable organizational environment for generating and selecting ideas, ensuring the coordination of actions between departments, developing a culture of knowledge exchange, and integrating internal and external knowledge in the process of implementing innovation projects. It has been proved that it is precisely the quality of management mechanisms, shaped under the influence of a leader’s leadership potential, that largely determines the level of the company’s innovation performance. The conducted SWOT analysis made it possible to identify key factors that enhance or restrain the efficiency of innovation process management, in particular the level of organizational trust, the speed of decision-making, the degree of openness to the external environment, as well as the presence of management inertia, centralization, and insufficient cross-functional interaction. Management risks related to insufficient development of leadership competencies, which may lead to decreased flexibility and loss of innovative opportunities, are outlined. Based on the obtained results, a conceptual representation of the interconnection between a manager’s leadership potential, the formation of an innovation strategy, the organization of innovation management processes, and the achievement of enterprise innovation efficiency is proposed. The practical value of the research lies in the possibility of using the proposed approach to assess the managerial readiness of enterprises for innovative development, as well as to improve the mechanisms for managing innovation activities under conditions of increasing uncertainty and competition.

Keywords: management; leadership; leadership potential; manager; efficiency; innovation processes; enterprise.
