Abstract:
In modern conditions of increasing levels of uncertainty and volatility in the external environment, the ability of metal trading companies to exhibit resilient behavior becomes of key importance, which is manifested in maintaining the stability of metal product sales, sustaining an acceptable level of profitability, and ensuring the efficiency of business processes amidst rapidly changing market trends. The aim of the article is to develop a conceptual approach to the formation and development of resilient behavior in a metal trading company, based on the integration of process and risk-oriented approaches, methods of economic-mathematical modeling, and principles of systemic analysis to ensure high resilience to changes in the external environment. The article proposes a conceptual approach to forming and developing resilient behavior in a metal trading company based on the use of the process approach. This approach is presented as an integrated mechanism that synthesizes the strategy for the formation and development of resilient behavior, accumulating: a subsystem for managing the business processes of resilient behavior of a metal trading company, which generates indicators of their efficiency; a subsystem for market research of metal products; a subsystem for the formation and maintenance of metal product inventories; a subsystem for managing the assortment of metal products; the formation and management of metal product service offerings; a set of models for the formation and development of resilient behavior of a metal trading company, which generate the structure of metal product assortment clusters, sales and margin resilience coefficients, a strategic positioning matrix for the assortment, and an indicator of the risk of resilient behavior. The implementation of a conceptual approach allows a metal trading company to ensure high resilience to changes in the external environment, timely identification and minimization of the impacts of destabilizing factors, optimization of the metal products assortment structure, as well as increased stability of sales and margin income, and the efficiency of development strategies aimed at strengthening competitive positions in the long term.
