Abstract: The article provides a comprehensive analysis of the current state of Ukraine’s economic potential in the context of wartime transformation, global macroeconomic instability, and increasing European integration processes. The study is based on a system approach to evaluating a country’s economic potential as a multi-component category that includes production, investment, labor, innovation, export, financial, and infrastructure potentials. The aim of the article is to conduct a thorough analysis and assessment of the current state of Ukraine’s economic potential, identify key structural imbalances, and substantiate strategic directions for its strengthening in the context of postwar recovery and integration into the European Union. To achieve this aim, the study addresses the following tasks: the modern approaches to interpreting the economic potential of the State have been analyzed; the dynamics of the main macroeconomic indicators of Ukraine have been studied; the structural components of economic potential have been assessed; key risks and prospects for the development of Ukraine’s economy have been identified; and strategic directions for strengthening the State’s economic potential have been substantiated. Key macroeconomic trends in the development of Ukraine’s economy from 2020 to 2026 have been analyzed, including the dynamics of GDP, inflation, public debt, unemployment rate, export and import volumes, international reserves, investment activity, and demographic indicators. It has been found that, despite significant economic losses due to the ongoing full-scale war, Ukraine is showing gradual recovery in certain sectors of the economy, business adaptation to crisis conditions, and the formation of new drivers of economic development. Special attention is paid to assessing structural imbalances in economic potential, in particular the critical dependence on raw material exports, the decline in industrial production, the reduction of labor potential due to migration processes, and the destruction of infrastructure. It has been shown that one of the key directions for strengthening Ukraine’s economic potential is the digitalization of the economy, the development of the defense-industrial complex, integration into European production chains, and the promotion of high-tech sectors.
Keywords: economic potential; macroeconomic stability; postwar recovery; investment potential; digitalization; structural transformation of the economy; European integration; innovative development.
