Abstract:
The aim of the article is to generalize the theoretical and methodological foundations of organizing international trade in the context of modern innovative economic development. The article is written to show how digitalization and new technologies are changing traditional approaches to conducting enterprises’ foreign economic activities. The study uses a combination of general scientific and specialized methods: analysis and synthesis of theoretical conceptions, comparative method, systems approach, as well as elements of economic and statistical analysis. The theoretical basis consists of classical and modern theories of international trade, works of domestic and foreign scholars, and current research on the digital transformation of trade. As a result of the study, it was found that today international trade is actively transforming under the influence of e-commerce, digital platforms, integrated information systems, and automation technologies. It has been shown that for an efficient assessment of the performance of foreign economic activity, it is best to use a comprehensive approach that combines resource-based, performance-based, process, and system analysis along with modern economic and mathematical methods. The practical significance of the work is that the formulated theoretical propositions and recommendations can be used by enterprises to improve the organization of international trade, optimize business processes, and enhance competitiveness in the global market. The social implications of the study are related to the possibility of creating new jobs in high-tech sectors of the economy and increasing the competitiveness of Ukrainian enterprises, which will positively affect the country’s economic development. The originality of the work lies in the comprehensive combination of classical theories of international trade with modern innovative approaches and digital tools. Unlike most existing studies, which examine individual aspects, this article attempts to systematically analyze how exactly digitalization is changing the organization and evaluation of international trade at the enterprise level.
