Abstract:
This article examines the impact of international partnerships on the success of startup projects related to the low-carbon transition. Based on an analysis of current scientific publications, the main groups of factors influencing international partnerships have been systematized, including institutional and regulatory, financial and investment, technological, market, organizational and managerial, social and network, and resource-related factors. It has been found that it is the complex interaction of these factors that creates the conditions for the development, scaling, and increased competitiveness of low-carbon startups in the global innovation environment. The study proposes an original interpretation of international partnerships in the field of low-carbon transition as a system of long-term interactions between startups, corporations, research institutions, investors, and other stakeholders from various countries, aimed at the joint creation, financing, implementation, and scaling of innovative solutions in the field of decarbonization and sustainable development. The essence of the partnership capacity of startup projects is clarified as the ability to form and effectively utilize international connections to attract resources, technologies, knowledge, and market access. A structural diagram of the impact of international partnerships is proposed, reflecting the interrelationship between input factors, mechanisms for their transformation, and the results of startup activities. Key mechanisms of influence are identified, including technology transfer, risk reduction, expanded access to financing, integration into international innovation ecosystems, scaling of operations, and increased trust from investors and partners. It has been demonstrated that startup success is multidimensional and encompasses economic, technological, and climate performance. Particular attention is paid to the role of international partnerships in the context of Ukraine, where they serve as a vital tool for postwar economic recovery, energy sector modernization, the development of innovation ecosystems, and integration into the European economic space. Prospects for further research involve developing quantitative approaches to assessing the efficiency of international partnerships and empirically testing the proposed model using real-world startup projects in the field of decarbonization.
