Abstract:
The relevance of this research problem is driven by the growing role of digital technologies in transforming business models, the uneven ability of enterprises to implement digital solutions, and the need to assess sectoral and regional asymmetries in digital development. The aim of the article is to substantiate the theoretical and methodological approaches to evaluating business digitalization in Ukraine and to conduct an empirical analysis of its sectoral and regional asymmetries, taking into account company size, types of economic activity, and the structure of the digital transformation index of Ukraine’s regions. The article uses research methods such as systematization, comparison, structural and regional analysis, descriptive statistics, and graphic methods. Indicators of digitalization by company size, the digital intensity index of enterprises by type of economic activity, the digital transformation index of regions, the structure of the digital transformation index by region, and the sub-index of the digital economy of regions were analyzed. It has been found that large companies have a higher level of digital intensity and greater potential for implementing modern digital tools, while small businesses face resource and organizational constraints. Industry analysis has shown higher digital maturity in technologically oriented and service sectors, whereas traditional sectors show slower digitalization. Regional analysis revealed significant differences in digital transformation, especially in terms of digital skills, infrastructure, public services, and the digital economy. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the development of a unique logical-analytical scheme for identifying trends, factors, and patterns of business digitalization in Ukraine, which integrates analysis by company size, industry, structural, and regional dimensions. The proposed framework creates an analytical basis for further monitoring of business digital transformation, substantiating industry digitalization programs, and regional strategies for the development of the digital economy. The practical value of the results lies in their potential use for shaping policies to support business digitalization and for further econometric evaluation of the impact of business digitalization on economic development.
