Abstract:
Despite growing scholarly interest in specific segments of Ukraine’s market infrastructure, a comprehensive analysis of systemic changes across 2022–2026 remains underdeveloped. The interdependence between physical destruction and digital transformation, as well as new business models formed as adaptive responses of market institutions to the military aggression context, have not been sufficiently examined. Aim of the article – to identify and systematise trends in the development of Ukraine’s market infrastructure after February 2022, characterise new operational models of market institutions, and outline the directions of postwar modernisation in the context of European integration. The study employs systemic-structural and comparative analysis, as well as generalisation of statistical and analytical data from government authorities, international organisations and sector reports for 2022–2026. The destruction of physical market infrastructure (primarily transport-logistics and trade) simultaneously acted as a catalyst for accelerated digitalisation. Five key trends are identified: 1) formation of decentralised 3PL/4PL logistics hubs; 2) rapid e-commerce growth (exceeding USD 6 billion in 2023, approximately 20% annual growth rate); 3) fintech ecosystem development and open banking introduction (NBU Resolution No. 80, 2025); 4) transformation of the Diia platform into a full-fledged market institution; 5) emergence of defence-technology startup clusters as a new market infrastructure phenomenon (over 2,600 active startups in 2024). The scientific novelty lies in a comprehensive description of qualitatively new market infrastructure models arising under armed conflict conditions: the marketplace model with fintech convergence, 3PL/4PL networked logistics, and the hybrid defence-commercial ecosystem. Postwar recovery requires synchronised physical reconstruction and digital modernisation aligned with EU standards and resilience principles. The findings can inform economic recovery strategies, foreign investment attraction in infrastructure projects, and regulatory harmonisation with EU single market requirements.
