Abstract:
This study aims to address the lack of a systematic framework for contemporary approaches to investment and innovation in the development of Ukraine’s transportation sector amid wartime challenges, the transformation of logistic routes, limited funding, and European integration processes. The aim of this article is to assess the current state, challenges, and prospects of investment and innovation activities in Ukraine’s transportation sector, and to identify strategies for stimulating investment processes and improving the efficiency of their management in the context of postwar recovery and integration into the European transportation space. The study employed methods of analysis and synthesis of scientific sources, systematic and comparative analysis, logical generalization, a structural-functional approach, and an analytical assessment of current trends in the development of the transportation industry. The study identifies key trends in investment and innovation activities in Ukraine’s transportation sector and analyzes the main challenges facing the investment process, including a shortage of financial resources, limited access to foreign capital, high levels of risk, fragmented government support, and inadequate management of investment flows. The role of international financial institutions in modernizing transport infrastructure, developing border and urban transport networks, renewing rolling stock, and ensuring the sustainability of the transport system has been identified. The current structure of industry financing has been characterized, and priority areas for the innovative development of transport and logistics enterprises have been identified. A system of economic, social, and environmental indicators for evaluating the efficiency of investment projects is substantiated. The scientific novelty lies in a comprehensive substantiation of the directions for improving investment support and fostering innovative development in Ukraine’s transportation sector, taking into account current warfare challenges, European integration requirements, and the needs of postwar reconstruction. It has been demonstrated that a comprehensive analysis of investment processes, along with an assessment of development potential and risks, forms the basis for creating efficient mechanisms to enhance the investment attractiveness, competitiveness, and resilience of the transportation system. The practical significance of the study’s findings lies in their potential use by government agencies, transportation sector enterprises, and international financial partners in developing investment policies, planning the restoration of transportation infrastructure, optimizing the management of financial resources, and implementing industry modernization programs.

Keywords: investments; international financing; challenges of wartime; transport modernization; sources of financing; investment management.
