Abstract:
The relevance of the research problem lies in the growing importance of human capital, the increasing complexity of corporate structures, and the strengthening of regulatory pressure, which necessitate the application of due diligence procedures in the field of labour relations. Under conditions of martial law and increased labour mobility, personnel risks become particularly significant, requiring a systematic approach to their assessment and mitigation. The aim of the article is to provide a theoretical substantiation and to develop applied approaches to conducting due diligence in labour relations as a tool for comprehensive assessment of personnel-related risks within an enterprise. The study employs methods of system analysis, comparative analysis, generalisation of scientific approaches, as well as elements of legal analysis of labour legislation and HR audit practices. The essence of HR due diligence, its place within the corporate governance system, and key areas of assessment in labour relations are examined, including the analysis of HR documentation, compliance with labour legislation, and the evaluation of organisational structure and personnel policy of the enterprise. The results of the study identify the main types of personnel risks and systematise approaches to their identification and assessment. The necessity of integrating HR audit into the enterprise management system as a tool for enhancing legal security of business operations is substantiated. It is found that the efficient implementation of due diligence procedures in labour relations contributes to the reduction of financial, legal, and reputational risks, and increases the level of compliance with modern corporate governance standards. It is proved that due diligence in labour relations is transforming from a verification tool into a comprehensive risk management system covering legal, organisational, and social aspects of enterprise activity. Based on the research findings, practical recommendations for the implementation of HR due diligence are proposed, including the systematisation of verification procedures, the integration of audit results into managerial decision-making processes, and the development of mechanisms for minimising personnel risks.
