Identifying the National Model of the Energy Security of Ukraine: System Components and Priority Directions (p. 79 - 89)

The article is concerned with the conceptual substantiating the national energy security model, taking into consideration peculiarities of its fuel-energy cycle. Energy security is seen as a status of the national energy system, which ensures its existence and development, as well as provides the satisfaction of energy interests of its entities. The system problems of the energy security of Ukraine include: energy dependence on imports of almost all the pivotal types of the fuel-energy resources; low diversification of production and import of fuel-energy resources; high intensity of energy use in all sectors of the economy and everyday living; the energy consumption patterns that are inconsistent with the structure of the national energy potential; low efficiency of converting the primary energy resources into the final energy. To the strategic goals of ensuring the energy security of Ukraine are assigned energy independence, energy efficiency, energy saving and mobilization energetics. According to these components in the context of individual types of the fuel-energy resources priority areas for strengthening the security level have been represented. The opportunity to ensure the energy security of Ukraine by reconstruction of the energy cycle in Ukraine based on interchangeability of the scarce energy resources has been substantiated.
Keywords: energy security, energy efficiency, energy independence, energy saving, mobilization energetics, fuel-energy resources
