Abstract:
The aim of the study is to identify scientific and theoretical developments concerning the essence of the economic category «digital transformation». The author demonstrates the dynamic nature of the process and the importance of continuously reviewing and deepening the characteristics of the economic category «digital transformation». An analysis of scientific and theoretical approaches to defining the essence of this economic category is carried out, along with the further development of its theoretical and methodological foundations in the context of contemporary economic realities. The article examines the emergence and evolution of the theoretical essence of the concept of «digital transformation» and describes the current understanding of this concept in both domestic and international scientific contexts. A retrospective analysis of the perception of digital transformation in leading economic schools is also provided, highlighting the main ideas of prominent scholars that have formed the basis for the development of the scientific foundations of digital transformation. Particular attention is paid by the author to the features of the domestic experience in the categorical development of «digital transformation». The interrelation between the concepts of «digitization», «digitalization», «digital transformation», and «digital economy» is identified. The obtained results are presented graphically. It is determined that digital transformation has a multidisciplinary nature, and the rationale for interpreting the content of the concept from an economic perspective is substantiated. Various interpretations of the analyzed definition are presented, and the author’s definition of «digital transformation» from an economic perspective, reflecting its contemporary content, is formulated. Based on the classic pyramid scheme of organizational business development (which simultaneously includes the conception, strategy, and business model, products and services, all types of resources, the operating system, management system, and overall business culture), a structural scheme of digital transformation from an economic perspective is presented.
