Abstract:
The article examines the digital economy as an environment for the transformation of enterprise business processes and substantiates the feasibility of considering it as a comprehensive factor of changes in the management system, organization of activities, and development of business entities. It is shown that the digital economy creates new conditions for the functioning of enterprises, within which the methods of information processing, process coordination, managerial decision-making, and ensuring interaction between the internal and external environment are changing. The methodological basis of the study is based on the use of analysis and synthesis, comparison, systematization, generalization, logical method, and abstraction, which made it possible to consistently reveal the essence of the digital economy as a specific environment of process changes. The study identifies the main characteristics of the digital economy that influence the restructuring of business processes, in particular the intensity of information flows, the integration of digital tools, data orientation, increased requirements for flexibility, and enhanced digital interaction with the external environment. It is substantiated that the transformation of business processes in such conditions has a systemic nature and covers not only individual operations but also the internal management system, organizational structure, process architecture, and strategic development guidelines of the enterprise. The scientific novelty lies in clarifying the essence of the digital economy as an environment for transforming business processes and in generalizing the logic of its impact on the restructuring of enterprise activities. The practical significance of the obtained results lies in the possibility of using them to improve approaches to business process management, enhance enterprise adaptability, and form efficient directions for digital changes. The prospects for further research are associated with the development of methodological approaches to evaluating the effectiveness of business process transformation, determining the criteria of digital maturity of enterprises, and studying the industry-specific features of the adaptation of economic entities to the requirements of the digital environment.
