Abstract:
The commitment of global and European countries to the common idea of implementing the principles of sustainability in the processes of social spatial development influences the processes of planning and forming strategic priorities for the development of the business environment with a focus on implementing the provisions of the green economy, which in modern conditions is considered a driver for transitioning the global economy to a new innovative model of growth and development. The directedness of the modern economy towards sustainable and resilient development requires all participants in the process, including government authorities, business representatives, investors, local authorities, communities, households, etc., to participate in organizing a new culture of responsible attitude towards addressing security, economic, social, environmental, infrastructure, institutional, and other types of issues through the implementation of the latest green innovative solutions, as well as attracting significant volumes of green investments, carrying out industrial and energy modernization, and so on. The aim of the article is to summarize theoretical and practical approaches regarding the prospects for planning and forming strategic development priorities of Ukrainian business in the context of the economy’s transition to a modern innovative model based on sustainability, taking into account European experience in implementing the conception of the green economy, in particular in the green metallurgy industry, for their further use in the process of postwar recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine. The article’s materials provide an analysis of European experience in implementing sustainability initiatives under the conditions of adopting the green economy concept, an assessment of their impact on domestic economic trends, particularly the development of green metallurgy, for Ukraine and Ukrainian business, and a summary of information regarding the prospects for planning and forming strategic development priorities of Ukrainian business in the context of the economy’s transition to a modern innovative model based on sustainability. Considering the interest in the topic of implementing sustainability principles, particularly the principles of the green economy, addressing the problems and challenges that accompany them, taking into account Ukrainian specifics, in particular the impact of the ongoing war on all social processes of spatial development in the country and the issues of domestic business functioning, the need for more detailed research on this topic remains relevant and promising.

Keywords: sustainable spatial development; green transition; green economy; green metallurgy; planning; strategic priorities; Ukrainian business; innovative economic model.
