Abstract:
The relevance of digital transformation in the pharmaceutical sector is driven by the active development of Ukraine’s electronic healthcare system, the expansion of digital services, and the need to adapt management processes of pharmaceutical institutions to modern conditions. The implementation of electronic prescriptions, reimbursement mechanisms, medical information systems, and other digital tools is changing approaches to pharmaceutical activity and pharmacy management. These processes became especially important during the COVID-19 pandemic and martial law in Ukraine, accelerating healthcare digitalization and the development of remote interaction tools. The aim of the article is to analyze the digital transformation of pharmaceutical institution management under the development of Ukraine’s electronic healthcare system, determine the impact of digital technologies on managerial processes, and assess the current level of digitalization in the pharmaceutical sector. The study employed content analysis, system and structural-logical analysis, comparative analysis, generalization, and systematization methods. The information base included scientific publications of domestic and foreign researchers, regulatory documents, official materials of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the electronic healthcare system (eHealth), and State-based healthcare digital projects. The study examined current trends in pharmaceutical digitalization in Ukraine, stages of digital technology development, features of State-based digital projects, and the level of integration of medical information systems into the healthcare digital infrastructure. The findings demonstrated that digitalization of the pharmaceutical sector in Ukraine has evolved from automation of individual processes to the development of an integrated digital ecosystem. Electronic prescriptions, eHealth, e-Stock, digital reimbursement mechanisms, and medical information systems were identified as key factors influencing pharmacy management transformation. Different levels of digital maturity and functional implementation of medical information systems were also identified. The study substantiates the feasibility of systematizing digital technologies according to their impact on management processes and proposes an approach for assessing the digital maturity of medical information systems. The practical significance of the findings lies in the possibility of applying the proposed approaches to improve digital management in pharmaceutical institutions and support managerial decision-making in the context of further digital transformation.
