Abstract: The article is devoted to the study of companies’ patent activity. The relationship between the intensity of companies’ patenting activity and their performance outcomes are analyzed. The study is based on an empirical examination of 10 companies ranked among the Top-50 according to the IFI CLAIMS ranking for the period 2015–2025. The relationship between patenting intensity and performance indicators has been examined using panel data analysis. In model specification, the dependent variables include revenue, operating profitability, and market value, while the key explanatory variable is the number of patents granted to a company. Regression models have been estimated both without and with time lags of one and two years. The study tests hypotheses regarding the positive impact of patenting intensity on company performance and a stronger relationship between these variables for IT companies compared to firms operating in other industries. The results indicate that the relationship between patenting activity and firm performance is most pronounced in terms of revenue and market value. The industry-specific analysis shows that, for IT companies, the explanatory power of patenting activity as a determinant of revenue and market value increases over time. For companies in other industries, patent activity is more rapidly translated into current financial and market outcomes. The scientific novelty of the study lies in advancing the theoretical framework of enterprise economic development by incorporating patent activity as a determinant of operational efficiency. The practical significance is determined by the use of the results by management to support decision-making related to enterprise development.
