Abstract:
The relevance of the problem of reintegration of veterans in the conditions of postwar economic reconstruction of Ukraine is due to the expected significant increase in the number of veterans after the end of the war and the need for their successful return to civilian life. Efficient reintegration of veterans is an important prerequisite for social stability and ensuring sustainable economic development of the State. At the same time, modern studies do not pay enough attention to considering veterans as a strategic resource for postwar reconstruction of Ukraine. The aim of the article is to substantiate the conceptual principles of reintegration of veterans in the conditions of postwar economic reconstruction of Ukraine and to determine the directions of using the potential of veterans as an important factor in the socioeconomic development of the State. Methods of analysis and synthesis were used to generalize theoretical approaches to the reintegration of veterans; critical analysis of literature, comparative analysis of the adaptation of international experience to Ukrainian realities. The information base of the study was scientific publications by Ukrainian and foreign authors, results of surveys of veterans, and Internet resources. Theoretical approaches to the reintegration of veterans, international experience in supporting them, key needs of Ukrainian veterans, and opportunities for their involvement in the processes of postwar economic reconstruction were studied. According to the results of the study, it was found that the most relevant areas of support for veterans are employment, professional retraining, psychological assistance, educational opportunities, and support for entrepreneurial initiatives. It was determined that successful reintegration requires a comprehensive intersectoral approach involving the State, educational institutions, business, public organizations, and international partners. Practical recommendations are offered for State authorities, local governments, higher education institutions, employers, public organizations, and international partners on the formation of a comprehensive system of veterans’ reintegration as a component of the postwar economic reconstruction of Ukraine.
