Abstract:
The functioning of enterprises in conditions of constant upheavals, economic instability, crisis phenomena, high level of uncertainty, resource shortage and incredible psychological pressure, turns emotional intelligence into a tool for increasing the efficiency of modern management. The aim of the article is to study the importance of emotional intelligence in modern management, determine its impact on management efficiency and substantiate the directions of development of emotional competencies of managers. The methodological basis of the study is the method of theoretical generalization and comparative analysis, system-structural analysis, SWOT analysis, conceptual and graphic modeling. The article examines the role of emotional intelligence as a key tool for increasing the efficiency of modern management in conditions of digitalization and growing uncertainty of the business environment. A comparative analysis of the leading conceptual models of emotional intelligence (J. Mayer – P. Salovey – D. Caruso, D. Goleman, R. Bar-On) is conducted and the possibilities of their practical application in management activities are identified. A SWOT analysis of the use of emotional intelligence in the modern management system was conducted, which allowed us to determine its advantages, limitations, development opportunities and potential threats. Based on the generalization of theoretical and practical approaches, a model of the influence of emotional intelligence on management efficiency was proposed, which reflects the relationship between the emotional competencies of the manager, managerial processes and the effectiveness of the enterprise. It is substantiated that the development of emotional intelligence is a strategic direction for improving the staff management system and increasing the competitiveness of modern enterprises. The scientific novelty lies in improving the approach to considering emotional intelligence as a strategic management resource. The practical significance of the results obtained lies in the possibility of their use for improving staff management systems and developing management development programs.

Keywords: emotional intelligence; management; managerial competencies; leadership; staff management; organizational efficiency; corporate culture; enterprise competitiveness.
