Abstract: The aim of the article is to substantiate the interdisciplinary nature of the methodology of modern economic comparative studies, to identify the structure and levels of this interdisciplinarity, as well as to reveal the predictive and analytical potential of such an understanding of this structure for the conditions of studying the economy of Ukraine as a warring country and its economic policy. In the process of writing the article, the methodological tools of institutional economic theory, the conception of relational economics, the study of the world experience of post-communist transformations, management of the war economy and postwar recovery were used. In addition to the above methodological principles, the following research methods were used: observation, generalization, descent from the abstract to the concrete, the unity of the logical and historical, as well as quantitative and qualitative approaches. The conducted research revealed an insufficient level of development of problems of economic comparative studies in the domestic economic literature. In addition, the analysis of foreign publications showed that, despite significant achievements in the development of methodological principles of institutional economic theory, a holistic methodology of economic comparative studies has not yet been created, with the help of which it would be possible to create an adequate scientific picture of possible scenarios of the development of national economies in the conditions of globalization challenges, extreme uncertainty of the development trends of the globalized world and its increasing conflict. The conclusion is substantiated on the need to enrich the methodology of comparative economic analysis with the achievements of institutional theory, the conception of relational economics, evolutionary and behavioral economics, economic psychology, other areas of comparative studies (political, historical, legal, sociological, religious, etc.), as well as anthropology, demography, ethnology. The necessary and sufficient conditions for ensuring the restoration of Ukrainian identity as the main factor in preserving the national economic system are formulated: a necessary condition is its appropriate political support in the form of a national Ukrainian government, and a sufficient condition is the real de-oligarchization ofthe economic and political life.
Keywords: comparative economics; socioeconomic system; methodology; institutionalism; behavioral economics; anthropology; postwar recovery; relational economics; misconceptions; genetic code of the nation.
